6 Cheap Indoor Activities in Cortland


Summer time is usually about being outside and active. But there are some circumstances where you may want to do something inside or the weather prevents you from doing anything outside. There are the simple things like board games and things involving technology. However,  there are some pretty cool indoor places to go to in Cortland you may want to check out in the following list. (each place has a link to its website)

Shipwreck Amusement Center

Which has an indoor glow golf( $8.50 Regular,$8.00 Seniors 60+, $6.75 children 4-10), bounce house area($6 per hour), Teddy Mountain Fluff and Stuff Build a Buddy($8 for small, $13 for large), and a Treasure chest gem dig($8), also includes an outdoor golf course and paintball. There are summer specials on these activities until July 30th. They also offer a variety of food, drink, and ice cream options.

281 Bowling Inc

A local bowling alley with usual attractions, food, music and fancy lights. Pretty simple easy indoor place to go to.

CNY Living History Center

This includes 3 museums for only 1 admission price! The 3 museum exhibits include: Brockway Trucks, Tractors of Yesteryear, and History of the Homeville. They also have a Gift shop with unique gift ideas.($10 Adults, $9 seniors 65+. Active military FREE, $5 children 6-18)

The 1890 House Museum

This 15,000 square foot, limestone mansion, incorporating original and period objects, each room designed to look as it did over 100 years ago. Guided and self guided tours are available to see 26 of the 30 rooms.($8 Adults, $5 with student ID, $5 with military ID)

Plaza 6 Cinemas 

Local and simple movie theater with a concessions stand . 3D films have a small extra fee to view(Additional $1.50 to ticket), Often play 3-4 of the most recent movies.($9.50 per person, $6.50 child 12 & under / senior 62 & over, $8.50 College Student/Active Military w/ID)

Cortland Repertory Theater 

6 Different shows will be shown this summer at the little York theater. There’s got to be at least one you might be interested in checking out.
