Go Hiking On the Local Trails

There’s nothing like surrounding yourself with nature on one of the local hiking trails to clear your mind. The exercise not only helps to lower your stress by releasing endorphins, but by surrounding yourself with nature you’re also improving your memory and attention.

Walk Around the Neighborhood

While not as relaxing as hiking, taking a walk around your neighborhood is also a great to de-stress. It’s best to opt for the least busy streets, so you can let your mind wander. Pet owner? Bring your dog along to really get your mind off things!

Go for a Bike Ride

With quite a few different bike trails in Cortland, biking is a great option! Not only is it more exciting then walking, but biking causes your focus to shift to your present task, instead of what’s weighing on your mind.

Too Cold Out? Do Yoga Inside.

Exercise in general is good for stress relief, but yoga has the added benefit of also incorporating deep breathing exercises. Plus you don’t have to go out into the cold!

Try Playground Exercises

If you want a more gym style type of exercises with out going to the gym, you can go to your local playground or park and do a couple reps of these to de-stress.
